Ocumicho is a cultural Indian community of approximately 5,600 Pur é pecha people located in the foothills of the Tarascan plateau at about 2,000 meters altitude. The village is about 2 hours from Pátzcuaro near Cocucho, about 12-15 km from Zamora and very near the city of Uruapan in Michoacán. Only a woman's craft until the 1960s, women of the village generations ago developed the clay figurine traditional folk art which they contin faultless for everyday use. first-class materials and excellent craftsmanship ensure long-lasting durability.
